Testimonials

For more than 20 years this simple place has been a refuge for over 7000 people from more than 70 countries. Here's a selection of the many glowing comments from meditators at Wat Kow Tahm.

There is no way that I can possibly convey to you how much this retreat changed my life.
Regan, USA
In only a few short days I have understood more about myself than I saw while looking for many years (in the wrong direction!).
Gerard, Australia
Your work here is truly inspiring and I am so grateful that all of you here have such big hearts and good intentions to give Westerners the opportunity to be introduced to Buddhism in such a wonderful way.
Rachel, England
The retreat here has been a transformative experience for me. I hope that I can repay you all at the Wat by following up and practicing what I have learned here.
Sarah, USA
This has been one of the most profound and special experiences of my life. I will always remember you here at Wat Kow Tahm.
Liana, Ireland
Here among you, in this nice, quiet and extraordinary place I really found peace in my body and peace in my mind. Every time when I'm going to feel lost in my German Western world I'll come back to you within my thoughts.
Anja, Germany
I was very lost and going down a bad road a few weeks ago, this retreat has had a deeply profound positive effect on my life.
Kenneth, South Africa
The meditation retreat at Wat Kow Tahm has helped me to improve my listening, speaking and wise reflection skills. It has also added a gentleness and awareness to my personal life as well as clearly improved my abilities to do my job more effectively.
Jarowan, Thailand
No words can express my thankfulness for the gift of the teachings and this course was a big gift. Thank you so much to all those that make it possible for these retreats and this wonderful centre to exist.
Assaf, Israel
I've completed many retreats in different traditions, but the emphasis on compassion and lovingkindness was good to be reminded of again and again and again.
Yasha, USA
When I came here I only had an image of what to expect and what I may learn. Well, what I learned goes far beyond my expectations. I am realizing that I am really fortunate to have done this now and will definitely continue it in the future, although it will be hard sometimes. I will always keep this Wat in my mind and in difficult times think of the beneficial things I learned here. Thank you very much for everything.
René, Netherlands
Thank you for the wonderful opportunity you have provided here for me to learn and practice. I have learnt so much in these last ten days. After years of meditation practice I have at last learnt how to open up to Compassion - Compassion for myself as well as others. The techniques I have learned to develop wisdom I will also be able to integrate into my daily practice. These are treasures that will be with me this whole life. Thank you, with my deepest respect.
Alan, Thailand
There are no words that can describe how thankful I am for the work you are doing here at Wat Kow Tahm and how big a gift you are giving to us that are so fortunate to come and stay here at the retreat.
Sōleyð, Faroe Islands
I am deeply grateful that you had the wish and the vision to invite Steve and Rosemary to teach foreigners at this monastery. I have been to several meditation retreats in the West, in India and Nepal, some in monasteries, but this is the first retreat I have been on where I have felt so strongly the kindness of the nuns and monks. You have a special place here.
Nelle, Canada
Thank you very much for an amazing experience which has given me motivation for my life, something that was formerly missing.
Jackie, England
This was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life so far - and the best.
Jody, Canada
Even while traveling, and even while "out here" I am certainly working with the practice everyday. Of course it's more challenging with all the distractions than while in retreat conditions. I'm working primarily with the walking meditation (can be done anywhere!) and understanding about my own wise versus unwise reactions. I simply wanted to share with you how helpful the retreats and lessons are in my daily life. So thank you and the assistants again for giving so much of yourselves to the retreatants, it is truly a gift!
Avinash, USA
The experience here was an absolute blessing. It was my first experiential understanding of Buddhism. Before I only had books to learn, now my view is wiser and I have a more beautiful sensibility in approaching the world after just 10 days here. Thank you for your effort in maintaining a center for love
Lukas, USA
I didn't know much before I came, but I do now. This has taught me a lot, thank you.
